Yana Itskovich

I’m a mother of three boys – Nathan and twins, Simon, and Jacob. I have been a registered dental practitioner since 2008, having completed my Fellowship examinations and then specialist training at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2016. I have undertaken additional Orthodontic exams at an international level, and since 2018 contribute to teaching part-time at the University of Melbourne.

In 2021 I became co-owner of Camberwell Orthodontic Group. Actively lecturing and remaining engaged with the latest advancements in orthodontics, I ensure my patients receive evidence-based, modern care. I am also very attuned to patient preferences and wishes, thinking outside the box when designing individualised treatment plans for my patients. We are all different!

What is my treatment philosophy?

Be proactive, not aggressive and assess early. Assessing children by age 8, as recommended by the Australian Society of Orthodontists, can intercept problems early and reduce future complexity. Encouraging good habits and jaw growth is important. All my treatments are tailored to not just the orthodontic needs of a patient but also the psychosocial.

When look at a patient, I try and recommend treatment I would be happy to do on my own children.
